The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of physical education and sport in primary schools.  This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in school.  Each school receives £16,000, plus £5 per pupil on roll, totalling around £17,400 each year.  At St Philip's Primary, we pride ourselves on being a happy and healthy place to learn.  We’ve developed an action plan to ensure this funding is invested to maximise the long term impact of our PE provision for pupils and staff.

In 2016-17, 37 out of 39  (95%) year 6 children were able to swim at least 25m by the end of the year.

All the children really enjoyed the day - honing their precision skills and working as a team while New Age Kurling! There was even a competitive element, playing against teams from other schools.

Cross Country Running

18 children from the Junior department enjoyed the 1.2 km race on Weds 3rd October.  All of the children completed the course.

09  08 Y6 Enjoy a trip to Paulton's Park
  The Football team played an amazing match against WASPS in the final.  They won the match 4-0 and have brought some impressive silverware home.
Sports Day was an amazing event.  Thanks to all who came to support and a special thanks to those who loaned the school their gazebos for the morning - a life saver!
49 Children from St Philip's joined forces with 450 children from across the Palladian Trust for a wonderful evening of song and dance at the Forum.
8 Children from Y4 enjoyed an afternoon of tennis at Bath University.

Owl class braved the wet and cold to spend a fun time at Bath on Ice thanks to Olivia’s winning competition entry.
5 children got to spend some time brushing up on their skills with Sarah Hunter MBE - England Women's Rugby Captain.
  The Y5 cricket team took part in the cricket festival at the Sulis Club. We got into the quarter final of the plate.
