Curriculum Intent Statement – MFL (French)

At St Philip’s School, we aim for MFL to provide a valuable educational, social and cultural experience for pupils; equipping them with the key knowledge and understanding necessary to be global citizens in the modern world.  Modern Foreign Languages should raise awareness of a multi-lingual and multi-cultural world whilst also developing communication skills.  We allow children to learn in engaging and interesting ways, often without pen and paper, by stimulating their creativity.  Topics and themes are returned to and built upon across KS2 in order to stretch and challenge pupils, and to allow them to build on previous knowledge and skills.
